All the flavor of a BLT in salad form, plus it's keto friendly! The peppered mayonnaise dressing is my favorite!

This BLT salad, perfectly highlighted with a homemade peppered mayonnaise dressing, is sure to win the hearts of BLT fans everywhere.

Bacon, tomato, and lettuce. These three flavors are a classic creating the perfect, sweet, salty, crunch combination. But, did I mention bacon? Bacon is important.

It’s no wonder why I’ve always loved having BLT sandwiches, but doesn’t explain why I didn’t have them more often. Seriously wasted opportunities throughout my life.

Now that I’m on keto I can’t do the sandwich BLT because I’m picky and for my perfect BLT I need to have a soft white bread that I have yet to replicate in keto friendly style. There was just something about the way the bread soaked up the bacon grease, and mingled the flavor of the mayonnaise. Yes, it may not be listed as a regular BLT ingredient, but mayonnaise definitely crowns the BLT sandwich.

BLT and Keto

While I wait for my glorious moment of triumph in perfecting the keto bread to my standards, I’ll have to enjoy my BLT in other ways. For now, it’s as a BLT salad with a homemade peppered mayonnaise dressing.

I love pepper, by the way, so if you’re not a fan of it, just tone down the amounts I have listed. Many of my recipes will have a peppery kick, but I’ll do my best to make note of it so you can adjust as needed.

BLT Salad with Homemade Peppered Mayonnaise Dressing

Ingredients

BLT Salad

  • 1 cup Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 2 slices bacon chopped or crumbled
  • 8 grape tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Peppered Mayonnaise Dressing

Instructions

  1. Mix all dressing ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Mix all salad ingredients together. Top with peppered mayonnaise dressing
